Strong Swiss presence in Vancouver

At the 25th Vancouver International Film Festival, which is the most important film festival in British Columbia and takes place from September 28 – October 13, 2006, Switzerland will be represented with four productions: In the «Cinema of our Time» section, where the audience selects the Best International Film, «Lenz» by Thomas Imbach, and «Vitus» by Fredi M. Murer (Production: Hugofilm, Zurich) will be presented.
In the «Nonfiction Features» section, the documentary films «EXIT, The Right To Die» by Fernand Melgar and «Crude Awakening – The Oil Crash» by Basil Gelpke and Ray McCormack will be shown. «A Crude Awakening – The Oil Crash» will also be screened at festivals in Warsaw and Bergen (Norway), and it is in the running for the award for «Best Documentary» in Vancouver.



«Lenz» was already presented to an English-speaking audience in Melbourne (Australia), and will be shown in Leeds (Great Britain) in November. The Vancouver Film Festival reaches a large audience as well as film professionals.
