The 2nd Se-Ma-For Film Festival, held in the Polish city of Lodz, is devoted exclusively to animation films in stop-motion technique (September 22-25). This year’s festival will devote an entire day to Swiss film productions on September 23: in collaboration with SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, the festival will present three programmes (a total of 29 films) with puppet-animation and other three-dimensional animation techniques. Six further Swiss film productions are on the festival programme, four of which will be screened in the international competition.

One festival programme is comprised of six films by the brothers Frédéric and Samuel Guillaume, as well as films by Claude Barras, including the film "Land Of The Heads" (2009) by Cédric Louis and Claude Barras which was nominated for the Swiss Film Prize "Quartz 2011" last March. A film panorama presents twelve productions from the years 2005 to 2010 by Izabela Rieben and Sami Ben Youssef at the HSLU in Lucerne or independently (namely "Tango Lola" from 2008). The third programme will showcase the oeuvre - eleven films in sand animation - by Ernest "Nag" Ansorge, who will be honoured with the festival's Special Prize for his oeuvre. The Swiss day in Lodz will conclude with a special evening event, featuring a silent party. The award-winning films at Se-Ma-For Film Festival will be screened in Lugano from November 18-20.
