Swiss animation films are well represented at the Festival of Animated Film in Stuttgart

The 15th International Festival of Animated Film, taking place from May 1-6, 2008 in the capital of the German federal state Baden-Württemberg, will present seven Swiss animation films. “Max & Co” by Frédéric & Samuel Guillaume (produced by MAX-LeFilm, Lausanne) will compete along with seven other movies for the award for the best animated feature-length film in the international competition “Ani Movie”.
The three animation films of “Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts” La main de l´ours” by Marina Rosset, “Tôt ou tard” by Jadwiga Kowalska and “What´s Next?” by Adrian Flückiger & Claudia Röthlin, will be shown in the competition “Young Animation”. “Sainte Barbe” by Claude Barras & Cédric Louis will be featured in the competition “Tricks for Kids”, especially geared to children.



Two additional films complete the Swiss presence at the festival in Stuttgart: “Die Seilbahn” by Claudius Gentinetta & Frank Braun has been invited in the section “Panorama” and “La jeune fille et les nuages” by Georges Schwizgebel will be screened in the programme “Best of Animation”, compiled by Milan-based film critic and historian Giannalberto Bendazzi, being specialized in animation studies. The directors Jadwiga Kowalska, Claudia Röthlin and Claude Barras will personally present their films. The festival in Stuttgart is the most important festival for animated film in Germany and is globally one of the most significant events of this kind.<
