Swiss documentary awarded in Nashville

“Shake the Devil Off” by Peter Entell (produced by Show and Tell Film, Fournex) was awarded Best Documentary at the 39th Nashville Film Festival (April 17-24, 2008). Father LeDoux, the protagonist of the film, who had denounced the failure of both clerical and mundane authorities after the devasting Hurricane Katrina, travelled from New Orleans to the capital of the U.S.-state Tennessee, where the festival took place.
The documentary, shot one year after the ecological disaster in New Orleans, had ist première at the Film Festival in Locarno in 2007. Before it´s presentation at the International Documentary Festival in Amsterdam, “Shake the Devil Off” won the Editing-prize on the occasion of the Recontres internationales du documentaire in Montreal. In the beginning of May the film will be screened in competition at the DOK.FEST in Munich (May 1-8, 2008) and at the same time as a Swiss contribution at “Input TV”, the conference of the public sector broadcasters, taking place from May 4-10, 2008 in Johannesburg.



“Shake the Devil Off” will be released on May 22 in cinemas of German-speaking Switzerland.
