Swiss documentary film “The Sound After The Storm” wins award at Zurich Film Festival

The documentary film “The Sound After The Storm” by Patrick Soergel, Ryan Fenson-Hood and Sven O. Hill was awarded the Golden Eye for Best International Documentary Film at the 5th Zurich Film Festival, which came to an end on October 4. This film is a coproduction between Switzerland (Ventura Film, Meride, in collaboration with Italian Swiss Broadcasting Service TSI and Germany.
The jury of the International Documentary Film Competition – with the renowned Swiss director Peter Liechti as a member – presented the award to the film “The Sound After The Storm” with the following statement: “…for ist courageous revisiting of the victims of Hurricane Katrina long after the media had forgotten them and for the power of ist visual and sound imagery in evoking a culture to a large degree destroyed when the hurricane hit. A moving portrait.”
