Swiss documentary film wins award in Berlin

Nicolas Wadimoff’s film “Aisheen (Still Alive in Gaza)” was honoured with the Prize of the Ecumenical Jury from the Forum section at the Berlinale. The 45-year-old film director from Geneva attended the festival to accept the award, endowed with EUR 2,500, on February 20.
The film, a coproduction between Switzerland (Akka Films, Carouge) and Qatar, is a situation report from the Gaza Strip in February 2009, just one month after the end of Israel’s military offensive. Nicolas Wadimoff presented his film to the audience in Berlin with four screenings in conjunction with the 40th Forum (February 11-21, 2010), all of which were sold out.
