Swiss double-award at Madrid Documenta

At the award ceremony of the 3rd International Documentary Film Festival Documenta Madrid, which ended on May 14th, two Swiss films took home prizes. In the «Documentary Reporting» section, «Gambit» by Sabine Gisiger (Production: Dschoint Ventschr) received the Jury Second Prize worth 5,000 Euro. The short film «Wir sind dir treu» by Michael Koch won the audience award for Best non-Spanish film with a prize sum of 3,000 Euro, along with a Jury Honorable Mention.
The members of the jury, which included Catalan director Carlos Benpar, Carmelo Romero de Andrés, former director of the Valladolid International Film Festival, Robin Mallick, director of the Dresden Filmfest, and officials of the European Coordination of Film Festivals, bestowed these two awards among 23 films shown in the «Documentary Reporting» section. This festival section featured films that are either providing information on current invents or are witness to them.



The short film «Wir sind dir treu» has been given several international awards, among them – only a week ago – at Schwerin, at Clermont-Ferrand in February, and at Winterthur last November.



Both filmmakers, Sabine Gisiger and Michael Koch, were in attendance at the award ceremony.
