The cinema film “Clara und das Geheimnis der Bären” by Tobias Ineichen will be screened in competition at the Lucas 2012 in Frankfurt am Main and thus celebrate its world premiere. In addition, the film for family audiences will be screened in the children’s programme at the Filmfest Hamburg at the end of September. Only a few Swiss films are made for family audiences: for example, “Die Kinder vom Napf” and “Clara und das Geheimnis der Bären” in 2012.

Tobias Ineichen’s feature-length film “Clara und das Geheimnis der Bären” (“Jimmie” 2008; Tatort “Skalpell” 2012) will celebrate its world premiere at the 35th Lucas International Children’s Film Festival in Frankfurt (September 2-9, 2012). The film, a coproduction between HesseGreutert Film (Zurich) and Germany, will be screened in the International Competition and is therefore in the running for the festival’s main award endowed with EUR 7,500. The film will also be screened in competition at the “Michel Kinder und Jugend Filmfest” in conjunction with the Filmfest Hamburg (September 28 - October 2).

Multifaceted family film
The fiction film, shot in the Grison Alps, features the 13-year-old Clara as the protagonist, who lives with her mother and stepfather on a remote farm in the Alps. Nature means a lot to Clara – as well as the local legends and myths. “Clara und das Geheimnis der Bären” adeptly interweaves thrilling, mysterious naively dreamy elements, resulting in an adventure film for the entire family. It is the second Swiss film to celebrate its international premiere in Germany: “Die Kinder vom Napf” was screened at the Berlinale 2012 and has already attained ticket sales of over 70,000 in Swiss cinemas.
