Seven Swiss film productions will be presented to the German audience with all the directors in attendance at the 44th Hof International Film Festival (October 26-31, 2010). The international premieres on the festival programme include the following: the romantic drama “How About Love” by Stefan Haupt; “Hinter diesen Bergen” by the film student Michael Krummenacher; as well as “Meisterträume” by Norbert Wiedmer and Enrique Ros, a cinematic look behind the scenes of the Young Boys football team from Bern.

Three films by Swiss directors will attract the attention of the audience and of the numerous film professionals attending the festival in Hof: the feature film debut by French-Swiss directing duo Stéphanie Chuat and Véronique Reymond "La petite chamber," which was screened in competition this past summer in Locarno and in Montreal; the German coproduction "Satte Farbe vor Schwarz" by Sophie Heldmann, which was screened in competition at the festival in San Sebastian in September - starring Bruno Ganz and Senta Berger in the leading roles; and the feature film "Songs of Love and Hate" by Katalin Gödrös, which was also screened in competition in Locarno. Alberto Meroni's 40-minute documentary film "L'artigiano glaciale" about the receding glaciers rounds off the stark Swiss presence in Hof.

The Hof International Film Festival, which has been directed by the expert on German and European auteur films Heinz Badewitz since it was founded 44 years, is regarded as one of the best platforms for film distribution in Germany.
