Two Swiss film productions have been invited to the 28th Sundance Film Festival in Park City (January 19-29, 2012). The festival, founded by actor Robert Redford, is the most important platform for independent filmmaking in the USA. Daniel Zimmermann’s short film “Stick Climbing» will be screened in the International Competition for Short Documentary Films, while the coproduction “Corpo celeste” (Amka Films, Savosa) by Italian director Alice Rohrwacher will be screened in the Spotlight section.

"Stick Climbing" was screened in the Berlinale Shorts Competition in 2011, after having celebrated its premiere at the International Short Film Festival Winterthur in 2010, where it won the award for Best Swiss Film. Thanks to the support from SWISS FILMS, the promotion agency, Daniel Zimmermann will travel to Park City.

The Italian-Swiss coproduction "Corpo celeste" celebrated its premiere in the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes in 2011 and has since been invited to approximately 20 festivals all over the world.
