At the 10th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, taking place in the Estonian capital until December 12, 2006, no less than nine Swiss films and co-productions as well as a retrospective of films by Georges Schwizgebel organized by SWISS FILMS, will be shown. In addition to the Geneva animated filmmaker Schwizgebel, who is a member of the «Animated Dreams» festival jury, 2006 Swiss Shooting Star Carlos Leal will also be in attendance at the Black Nights festival in Tallinn.
The festival program, which features Estonian films as well as a selection of contemporary productions from Europe and Asia, will show «Jeune Homme» by Christoph Schaub (T&C Film, Zurich), «Mein Name ist Eugen» by Michael Steiner (Kontrafilm/C-Film, Zurich), and «Vitus» by Fredi M. The Swiss co-production «To Get To Heaven You Have To Die» by Tadschikistan director Djameshed Usmonov (Saga Productions, Lausanne) will be screened as part of the EurAsia international competition. With «Agata e la tempesta/Agata And The Storm» by Silvio Soldini in the «Focus on Italy» series, and «Face Addict» by Edo Bertoglio in the «Different Frequencies» program, which were both co-produced by the Ticino company Amka Film, filmmaking from the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland receives special attention.
