Swiss films in competition in Seattle
Manuel von Stürler’s film “Hiver nomade,” considered as the documentary film discovery in the Berlinale Forum, will be one of the twelve films screened in the Documentary Competition at the 38th Seattle International Film Festivals (May 17-June 10, 2012).

Manuel von Stürler’s film “Hiver nomade,” considered as the documentary film discovery in the Berlinale Forum, will be one of the twelve films screened in the Documentary Competition at the 38th Seattle International Film Festivals (May 17-June 10, 2012). The film “Rouge parole” by Tunisian director Elyes Baccar, a coproduction by Akka Films in Geneva, is also in the running for the Best Documentary Film award.
The festival will screen four further Swiss film productions and coproductions: “The Substance – Albert Hofmann’s LSD” by Martin Witz will celebrate its American premiere in Seattle, after having been screened at 15 international festivals in Europe and Latin America. Also celebrating its US premiere in Seattle will be the German-Swiss coproduction “Töte mich” by French director Emily Atef (Hugofilm Productions, Zurich). Two short animation films – “Bon voyage” by Fabio Friedli as well as “Der grosse Bruder” by Jesús Pérez and Elisabeth Hüttermann – round off the strong presence of Swiss films in the largest city in the Pacific Northwest of the USA.
