Christoph Schaub’s most recent opus “Nachtlärm” will celebrate its international premiere at the Warsaw Film Festival. The latest film “The Making Of Jesus Christ” by Luke Gasser, the multi-talent from Central Switzerland, will also celebrate its world premiere at this major Eastern European film festival. Furthermore, the Polish director Greg Zglinski (“Tout un hiver sans feu”), who grew up in Switzerland, is a member of the international jury.

Christoph Schaub’s “Nachtlärm” will be among the 18 entries screened in competition at the 28th Warsaw International Film Festival (October 12-21, 2012). This marks the first screening at an international festival for the film, which premiered on the Piazza Grande in Locarno in August. In addition, rock musician, painter, sculptor, author and director Luke Gasser will celebrate the world premiere of his documentary essay “The Making Of Jesus Christ” in the Documentary Film Competition. Two films – “Un mundo para Raúl” by Mauro Mueller and “Zimmer 606” by Peter Volkart – will be in the running for awards presented in the Short Film Competition. Moreover, Nicolas Wadimoff’s fiction film “Opération Libertad,” screened in this year’s Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, and Markus Imboden’s box-office hit in Switzerland “Der Verdingbub” round off the particularly prominent Swiss presence this year in the capital city of Poland.

Internationally accredited festival
The Warsaw International Film Festival is one of the 14 festivals worldwide accredited with A-status by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations FIAPF. The Warsaw Grand Prix is the festival’s main award, endowed with 100,000 zloty (approximately CHF 30,000). Further awards amounting to a total of over 60,000 zloty will be presented by the five juries of the official programme, as well as by the Ecumenical jury, the FIPRESCI jury and the NETPAC jury. The winner of the Short Film Competition qualifies for an Oscar nomination.
