Swiss Presence at Shanghai Film Festival

13.06.2007

At the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival, which is taking place from June 16 – 26, 2007, and is the largest Chinese film event, four Swiss films have been invited to screen in the Panorama section. The director Anguita-MacKay will present her feature film “La mémoire des autres/Moon On The Snow”, while Jan Gassmann represents the documentary film “Chrigu” as co-author at the event. Actor Urs Jucker will introduce the film “Vitus” to the Chinese audience. The film’s theatrical release in China is marketed by the Huayang distribution company. “Mon frère se marie/My Brother Is Getting Married” by Jean-Stéphane Bron rounds out the Swiss presence at the Shanghai festival.
The Shanghai International Film Festival counts among twelve film festivals credited by the International Federation of Film Producers Association as first-rank. It has been acknowledged by the film industry as one of the most important platforms for potential film distribution in China. With the financial contribution of the European Film Promotion’s “Film Sales Support”, for example, the world sales company “Medialuna Entertainment” is in attendance at the event. The company will promote the international distribution of the Swiss films “Fraulein” by Andrea Staka, “Love Made Easy” by Peter Luisi, “Nachbeben/Going Private” by Stina Werenfels, and “Vitus” by Fredi M. Murer, among others.
