17.03.2010

Several Swiss works can be seen at the 28th International Film Festival on Art (FIFA) from 18 to 28 March 2010 in Montreal. Two Swiss documentary films are competing for the Grand Jury Prize together with 41 films from 14 countries. “Gauguin à Tahiti et aux Marquises” by Richard Dindo and “Ya Sharr Mout” by Sabine Gisiger.
20 Swiss video works are on the programme in the Media Arts section which, according to information from the organisers, will be offering “research video work, artistic videos and experimental films produced by visionary artists”. Thus, for example, the public can discover the short documentary film “Living-room dancers” by Bastien Genoux in the sub-programme “Diagonals” or the experimental film “Je suis une bombe” (2006) by Elodie Pong in the series entitled “The Curated Box”.

The FIFA in Montreal is devoted exclusively to films on art (including photography, architecture, comics, dancing, design, film, literature, music and painting). Every year, it traces the development of artistic work in Switzerland. 230 films from 23 countries are on the programme for this 28th edition of the festival.
