The film “Auf der Strecke” (“On the Line”) by Swiss director Reto Caffi (production: Academy of Media Arts Cologne) has won yet another award. The short film, which was Caffi’s graduate film upon completion of his studies in Cologne, left the United States with the “Best Student” award, amounting to 2,000 dollars. The award was presented by the international jury of the 17th Aspen Shortsfest on April 6.
The 30-minute short film has already been honoured with a number of major awards – including the Grand Prix at the festival in Clermont-Ferrand and the Quartz for the “Best Short Film” of this year’s Swiss Film Prize. The film celebrated its American premiere in Aspen, Colorado, and was in the running for the award with 53 other film productions from 24 countries. A five-member international jury selected the film as the winner. The short film festival in Aspen ranks among the most important festival devoted to the genre of short film in the U.S.

“Auf der Strecke” will be screened at the end of April at the short film festival in Brussels and in May at the film festival in Seattle. The film is currently touring cinemas in the German-speaking region of Switzerland in conjunction with the Short Film Night.
