Swiss short films awarded in Vila do Condo (Portugal) and Montecatini (Italy)

The short film “Jeu/Play”, which is the most recent animated work by Georges Schwizgebel, won the “Onde Curta” on the occasion of the 15th edition of the International Film Festival Curtas Vila do Conde. The festival took place from July 5 – 17, 2007. The short film “Snowing in Marrakech” by Hicham Alhayat (Bord Cadre Film, Geneva) received an honorable mention at the 58th FilmVideo – Mostre Internazionale del cortometraggio in Montecatini Terme, Italy, which ended on July 14, 2007.
In Vila do Conde, “Jeu/Play” took part in the festival competition along with 48 short films of all genres. The “Onda Curta” award includes the purchase of the film’s distribution rights by the Portuguese television station RTP2. This is the ninth award for “Jeu/Play” since ist premiere at the Locarno International Film Festival in 2006.
“Snowing in Marrakech” by Hicham Alhayat was shown in the “Lo sguardo dell’Europa: I Migranti” section in Montecatini along with 15 additional films.
