Ten Swiss films in Namur (Belgium)

The 21st Namur International Festival of French-Speaking Film (FIFF), taking place in Namur (Belgium) from September 29 to October 6, 2006, will present ten Swiss films, among them “Mon frère se marie” by Jean-Stéphane Bron (Box Productions, Renens) in the festival competition. The documentary films “Geisendorf” by Frédéric Baillif (Point Productions, Geneva), and “La petite dame du Capitole/The Little Lady Of The Capitole” by Jacqueline Veuve (Aquarius Film Production, Les Monts-de-Corsier) are in the running for the desired “Bayard d’Or” award, while the feature film “Nouvel ordre” by Geneva trio Gregory Bindschedler, Jean-Daniel Schneider, and Ausonio Tavares de Sousa, will be part of the short film competition section. Swiss photographer Hélène Tobler serves a member of the documentary film jury.
Six additional works were selected and will be shown in various festival sections: “Jeune homme” by Christoph Schaub, and the Swiss co-production “Ça brûle” by Claire Simon will be screened in the “Panorama” section. Documentary films participating outside of competition are “White Terror” by Daniel Schweizer, and “A la recherche d’Else” by Sandy Kopitopoulos and Daniel Maurer. The short feature film “Amancay” by Milagros Mumenthaler, as well as the animated film “Le génie de la boîte de raviolis” by Claude Barras will be shown in the short film program.
