The film shot in Afghanistan, Qatar, China, France, Canada, and Switzerland, was co-produced by Swiss Television SF, and the German Television station ZDF. It premiered in Locarno in 2005 and later celebrated its international premiere in Toronto, Canada. Since that time, it has had a very successful festival career with showings in 25 locations on four continents.
