Three Swiss documentary films at European Film Festival in Seville

Three Swiss film productions – “The Fortress” by Fernand Melgar, “Hidden Heart” by Cristina Karrer and Werner Schweizer (Dschoint Ventschr, Zurich) and “The Mother” by Antoine Cattin and Pavel Kostomarov – will participate in the “Eurodoc” competition at the 5th Festival de Cine Europeo in Seville, Spain (November 7-15, 2008). This means that three of the fourteen documentary films in the competition are from Switzerland. The Swiss-Italian co-production “Days And Clouds” by Silvio Soldini (Amka Films, Savosa) will be screened with a selection of films in the running for the European Film Award.
The Swiss-Russian co-directed film “The Mother” by Antoine Cattin and Pavel Kostomarov received a nomination for the European Film Award 2008 in the “Prix Arte - Best European Documentary Film” category two weeks ago.



The fiction film nominations for the European Film Award will be announced on in conjunction with the festival November 8. The European Film Award will be presented in Copenhagen on December 6. As a platform for announcing the nominations combined with its clear European orientation, the festival in Seville has rapidly risen among the ranks as one of the most important events for European film.
