At the 11th Brooklyn International Film Festival in New York, which will run from May 30 until June 8, 2008, three Swiss films will be screened in competition. The already multifold award-winning short fiction film “Auf der Strecke” by Reto Caffi and the two long fiction films “Fuori dalle corde” by Fulvio Bernasconi (produced by Ventura Film, Meride) and “Save Angel Hope” by Lukas Erni will compete for one of the numerous prizes. Awards amounting to a total sum of 80 000 US$ are awaiting the winners at the Brooklyn International Film Festival.
“Auf der Strecke”, the winner of the Student Academy Award 2008 in Beverly Hills, laureate of the Swiss Film Prize 2008 and of many other awards, will continue its successful international festival career, taking it from Clermont-Ferrand via Aspen and Beverly Hills in the USA to Rome and Hamburg. With the comedy “Save Angel Hope” being released at the Comedy Festival in Cologne and the drama “Fuori dalla corde”, already presented in Locarno, Moscow and Osaka, three Swiss films will participate in competition.

The Brooklyn International Film Festival is a platform for the discovery and promotion of independent filmmaking in the categories short and long fiction, documentary, experimental and animation film.
