Three Swiss short films at film festival in Aspen (USA)

Three short films from Switzerland will be screened in the international competition at the 18th Aspen Shortsfest in Colorado (April 1-5, 2009): Eileen Hofer’s short fiction film “Racines” as well as the two animation films “Die Seilbahn” by Claudius Gentinetta and Frank Braun and “Retouches” by Georges Schwizgebel. A total of 62 film productions of all genres are in the running for the awards.
The three Swiss films have already experienced a tremendously successful festival career with numerous awards. Aspen is one of the most important short film festivals in North America. Over 2,400 films were submitted for this year’s festival. The winners at the festival qualify for consideration of an Oscar nomination by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
