31.03.2010

The Swiss short film “Le deuil de la cigogne joyeuse” by Eileen Hofer from Geneva as well as the two cartoon films “Wolves” and “Flowerpots” by Rafael Sommerhalder from Zurich are participating in the competition at the 19th “Aspen Shortsfest” (6 to 11 April 2010). The festival in the state of Colorado will be showing 100 short films of all genres.
The director Eileen Hofer was also present in Aspen last year thanks to the support of the promotional agency SWISS FILMS. She presented her film “Racines” which achieved an impressive festival career. The two films by Rafael Sommerhalder were developed during a cartoon masters undertaken by the director at the Royal College of Art in London.

The international short-film festival in Aspen is one of the most important events of its kind in North America. It is recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences as one of the festivals whose prize winners are eligible for an Oscar nomination.
