Tribute to Bruno Ganz as well as Swiss short films in competition in Angers
The 23rd “Premiers Plans” Festival in Angers has granted Swiss filmmaking a prominent position this year.

The tribute to Bruno Ganz encompasses ten films, two of which are Swiss film productions: "Dans la ville blanche" (1983) by Alain Tanner and "Pane e tulipani" (Bread and Tulips, 2000) by Silvio Soldini, featuring Ganz in the leading role. Bruno Ganz will honour the audience with attendance at the festival.
The festival in Angers (Loire) specialises in European debut films. This year's edition has selected three Swiss graduation films to be screened its Student Films Competition, comprised of a total of 23 films. Hence, in the running for the Grand Prix, endowed with EUR 1,500, are the following films: "Bam Tchak" by Marie-Elsa Sgualdo and "Une partie de ping-pong" by Antonin Desse (both of whom are graduates from the Geneva University of Art and design (HEAD); as well as "Mak" by Géraldine Zosso (Zurich University of the Arts). The three filmmakers will attend the festival.
Two of the 26 films in the "Plans Animés" competition are Swiss animation films: "Animal Kingdom" by Nils Hedinger and "Miramare" by Michaela Müller. Three further Swiss film productions will be screened in other sections of the festival programme.
