Director Jan Czarlewski has won two more awards for his acclaimed films produced at the ECAL: one in Serbia for the short film “L’amour bègue” at the festival founded by Emir Kusturica; the second in Australia for his short documentary film “L’ambassadeur & moi.”

The 25-year-old director, graduate of the ECAL in Lausanne, was honoured with two awards shortly after each other. His last film “L’amour bègue,” which won two awards at the festival in Locarno last year, recently won the Golden Egg Award for Best Short Film at the 6th Kustendorf International Film & Music Festival held in the village of Drvengrad in Mokra Gora, Serbia (January 16-22).

Meeting with Matteo Garrone and Monica Bellucci
The festival was founded by the famous filmmaker Emir Kusturica, two-time winner of the Golden Palm, and serves as a meeting place for young talent and acclaimed names in the world of film, such as Michael Hausman, Matteo Garrone, Audrey Tautou, Monica Bellucci, Elia Suleiman or Zhang Yimou. Jan Czarlewski attended the festival to accept his award personally.

Highly Commended Documentary Award
Jan Czarlewski was also honoured with the Highly Commended Documentary Award for his film “L’ambassadeur & moi” at the 22nd Flickerfest International Short Film Festival in Sidney (January 11-20). The film had already been awarded the Pardino d’Oro in Locarno in 2011 and was nominated for the European Film Award EFA at the end of 2012.
