Two short films from Switzerland will be screened at the 59th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (May 2-7, 2013). Kristina Wagenbauer’s 17-minute fiction film “Mila,” a Swiss-Canadian coproduction, will be presented in the Children’s and Youth Films Competition with monetary awards amounting to a total of EUR 3,000. The Montreal-based director will present her film personally at the festival in Oberhausen. The experimental video clip by Jonas Meier and Mike Raths for “Alice In The Sky” by the Swiss band Rusconi has already been screened at the notable short film festival in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Now it will compete against other international music videos in the festival section devoted to progressive and formally extraordinary works in this genre which has become an independent form of visualisation. In 2009 Jonas Meier’s video clip for “One Up Down Left Right” by Rusconi had already been invited to the oldest and most renowned short film festival in Germany.
