Two Swiss documentary films at largest film festival in Scandinavia

Vadim Jendreyko’s “Die Frau mit den 5 Elefanten” (Mira Film, Basel) and Peter Liechti’s “The Sound of Insects” will represent Swiss filmmaking at the 33rd Göteborg International Film Festival. The festival is Scandinavian’s largest festival, which runs in the second largest city in Sweden from January 29 to February 8. It attracts 200,000 film aficionados every year, providing an overview of artistically outstanding filmmaking from all over the world.
Peter Liechti’s film “The Sound of Insects”, which had already been screened at numerous major international film festivals last year and was honoured with the European Film Award – Prix Arte 2009 for Best Documentary Film, will be screened in the “New Visions” section in Göteborg. The film “Die Frau mit den 5 Elefanten” by Vadim Jendreyko, which celebrated its premiere at the Festival Visions du Réel in Nyon, will be screened in the “It’s All True” documentary film section.
