Two Swiss short films at Aspen Filmfest

03.04.2006

Switzerland will be represented with two short films at the 15th Annual Aspen Filmfest (Colorado, USA), which takes place from April 5 – 9, 2006. “Herr Goldstein” by Micha Lewinsky (Production: Langfilm, Zurich), and “Floh!” by Christine Wiederkehr (Production: School of Art and Design, Zurich) will be featured in the international competition. A jury bestows prizes totaling 28,000 US dollars.
With this invitation, the two short films are continuing their successful festival tour: “Herr Goldstein” (Mr. Goldstein) recently won the award for Best Short Film at Landshut, Germany, (see March 29th press release), while this is the 9th festival invitation for “Floh!” (e.g., Brest and Saarbruecken). Christine Wiederkehr completed “Floh!” as her thesis film, and it was awarded the 2005 First Step Award in Berlin last year.

The winners of the Aspen Filmfest will be announced on April 9th, with 49 films from 45 countries taking part in the competition.
