Born 1944 in Reconvillier, Switzerland. 1960-65 Attends École des Beaux-Arts et des Arts Décoratifs, Geneva. 1971 Founds Studio GDS. Works as producer and director of animation films and as graphic designer. 1986-95 Retrospectives and exhibitions, among others, in Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Osaka, Paris and New York. 2002 Awarded Swiss Film Prize, Best Short Film for LA JEUNE FILLE ET LES NUAGES. 2016 Swiss Film Award, Best Animated Film for ERLKING. 2021 Swiss Film Award, Best Animated Film for DARWIN'S NOTEBOOK. 2019 awarded Officer Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
