Né en 1944 à Reconvilier (Suisse). 1960-65 École des Beaux-Arts et Arts-Décoratifs de Genève, section graphisme. 1971 Fondation du Studio GDS. Production et réalisation de films d'animation ainsi que divers travaux de graphisme. 1986-95 Retrospectives et expositions entre autres à Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Tokyo, Osaka, Paris et New York. 2002 Prix du cinéma suisse, meilleur court-métrage pour LA JEUNE FILLE ET LES NUAGES. 2016 Prix du cinéma suisse, meilleur film d'animation pour ERLKÖNIG. 2021 Prix du cinéma suisse, meilleur film d'animation pour DARWIN'S NOTEBOOK. 2019 Officier de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres.
