Born in 1992 in Bern, Switzerland. 2013-18 BA in film from ZHdK (Zürcher Hochschule der Künste). 2018-21 MA in Directing Fiction at ZHdK. Independent director, author and editor. His Master film 22:47 LINE 34 which premiered at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage in Winterthur, won among others, the main prize in the Swiss competition, and screened at numerous international film festivals. Michael Karrer's first feature film FÜÜR BRÄNNT celebrated its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2023. Michael Karrer lives and works in Zurich and is co-founder of "Sabotage Kollektiv".
