Winterthur is the scene of a number of assassination attempts in the summer of 1984. Twenty-seven youths are arrested. Subjected to pressure from an interrogating officer, a young woman hangs herself in her cell. A journalist from Zurich makes inquiries into this death several months later and writes a book. The film utilises the inquiry as a starting point. In meeting with those involved, there is an attempt to understand what exactly happened to the youths who rebelled against society at the time.
