Seizing the opportunity of the show newly created by musicians Léon Francioli and Daniel Bourquin, “Nouveaux monstres”, this film tries to penetrate the familiarity of the music and to negotiate the twists and turns in the history of the Cold War that lasted from 1945 to 1989, and which helped to mould the world of the two musicians. A film in which micro-history sheds light on macro-history, in which the past half century is set to music, and is brought to life with the help of the invaluable and often very moving photos taken by reporters of the Magnum agency. A film about memory, and about the process of creation.
