The 2004 tsunami in South Asia was followed by the most successful fundraising campaign of all time. A substantial amount of the money was used for relocation projects. After the tsunami, the Sri Lankan government prohibited the reconstruction of homes along the coastline. 70’000 people were resettled with the help of charitable donations. Meanwhile luxury tourist resorts abound along the emptied beaches. The film visits resettled fishermen and traders and brings former project managers back to Sri Lanka, where they reflect about the outcome of their work.
