This music adventure involving the Orient and the Occident takes the viewer on a journey to Egypt, Paris, Tunisia and Switzerland. The film shows a world of images which exemplify the history and understanding of the relationship between Arab and European cultures. Swiss musician Stephan Athanas leads an international group which has created its own style derived from a fusion of jazz and Arab art music. The film provides insight into their musical work process, from its initial stages in Egypt to the “Souq” project with the chamber orchestra in Aargau.
