Ernst Stückelberg is a world-renowned Swiss physicist and is regarded as one of the most enigmatic theorists of the 20th century. A visionary and a tormented soul, he led a brilliant career that was, however, marginalised by mental illness and the contradictions of his time. The filmmaker follows in the footsteps of his scientific forebears, drawing on his writings, his thoughts and previously unpublished 16mm films to question science, our present and our existence.
