This road movie follows the course of water, thereby enabling viewers to discover one of the most mysterious rivers in Europe: the Doubs. Alternately wild, secretive and poetic, it shapes the character of the local residents tremendously. Whether from the Jura, Neuchâtel or France, they all seem to be shaped by “their river” which renders them at once rugged, inventive, unpredictable and mystical. The film portrays charismatic people who talk about their lives with reticence and pride. The Doubs lures them into confiding, sometimes even confessing.
