Antoine Bouchard, the offspring of a family of travelling show people and himself a former magician, is now in business as manager of the “Crazy Show”. When his daughter Marianne returns home after an absence of three years, she is an entirely different person. The announcement of her intention to marry Charles, a man 20 years her senior who is concerned only with “spiritual truth”, and whose code of conduct has much of the fake guru about it, alarms Antoine. Ready to do everything in his power to combat this impostor, Antoine is himself forced to change his ways.
