The eponymous composition for piano and string instruments by Carlo Florindo Semini (1914-2004) is a musical evocation of the famous cycle of late-Roman mosaics at Piazza Armerina in Sicily (now part of the UNESCO world heritage). A documentary made up of music and images that engages the eyes and ears of the audience in equal measure.
