Myosotis

Switzerland in the 1950s. The consumption of electricity is rising steadily. Two officials are commissioned by the city and the power company to convince the inhabitants of the Gettlich valley to leave voluntarily so that dams and reservoirs can be built. The mountain farmer Marie Schlatter finds it difficult to leave the valley. Her roots run deep; she has spent her entire life on this valley floor, experiencing suffering as well as joy. Giving that up is a heavy burden. She feels that every end is inevitably also a beginning.
