Anne, formerly a famous pianist, lives as a recluse in her big rambling house, after the car accident which put an end to her career. She can only tolerate the company of the son she worships and of an excessively devoted caretaker. After the mysterious disappearance of her son, she falls into depression, then into madness. It is then, that a young man hijacks her life.
