12.07.2000

Fredi M. Murer's "Alpine Fire" (Höhenfeuer) is one of the best-known Swiss films at home and abroad. Awarded the Golden Leopard in 1985, the film has since then made its way around the globe, and still remains a cult film for many. As of 28. June, the film can be seen again on the screens of three art-house cinemas in Paris.
"Alpine Fire" participated in the competition at the 38th Locarno International Film Festival in 1985, was enthusiastically received by the public and the press - and won the Golden Leopard. This was the starting point of a successful career in Switzerland and abroad. The film was sold and shown in the cinemas of more than 25 countries.

"Alpine Fire" has since then been included in the repertoire of international film classics as one of the best Swiss films. On this note, the independent French distributor "Les Films du Paradoxe" has brought the film once again to the cinemas in Paris and the rest of France. The film is now making its return in three different locations in Paris on 28. June. In addition, six more prints are planned for the screens in other French cities.
