Andreas Bühlmann new member of the SWISS FILMS executive board

Andreas Bühlmann was appointed to the SWISS FILMS executive board by the foundation’s board of trustees on October 1, 2021. In this capacity, he will also be responsible for managing the Festivals & Markets department. Laura Daniel will take on the new role of deputy head of this department.
Andreas Bühlmann obtained his degree in Film Studies, History and Spanish Linguistics from Zurich and Lausanne. Bühlmann has been working at SWISS FILMS since 2016, initially as a consultant for first features and emerging talent. From 2019 onwards, as deputy head of the department, he proactively expanded the existing international network with A-festivals, World Sales and distributors and initiated new promotional channels and measures for the international networking of the Swiss film industry. Prior to that, Bühlmann worked in various management positions for several Swiss film festivals, including head of industry and as a board member for the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur and the Pink Apple Film Festival Zurich, where he has been artistic co-director since 2019.
Laura Daniel obtained her degree in German Studies, Film Studies and Philosophy from the University of Zurich and New York University and has a CAS in Innovation and Change from the University of Basel. She joined SWISS FILMS in 2010 and was responsible for developing the Awards & Talents department. Laura Daniel served as managing director of the Swiss Film Academy from 2010 to 2013. Prior to that, she worked in world sales for Telepool as well as for various film festivals and production companies. She has chaired the board of the “Schweizer Jugendfilmtage” since 2021.
