“Aux frontières de la nuit” wins awards in Muscat (Oman)

The film “Aux frontières de la nuit” by Genovese director Nasser Bakhti was awarded two prizes, amounting to a total of 6,000 dollars, at the 5th edition of the Muscat Film Festival. The festival was held in the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman (Arabian Peninsula) from January 22 – 29, 2008. In the international competition, in which eleven films participated, Nasser Bakhti won the award for “Best Debut Film” as well as the Grand Audience Prize. Twenty of the films presented at the festival were in the running for this prize.
The film “Aux frontières de la nuit”, produced for the cinema in 2006, was presented at 27 festivals in 2007 and honoured with five international awards, amounting to approximately 35,000 CHF. The Algerian director and screenwriter Nasser Bakhti has lived and worked since 1990 in Switzerland, where he founded the production firm, Troubadour Film.
