Awards for fiction film “Home”

“Home”, the second fiction film by Ursula Meier (Box Productions, Lausanne), was honoured for its staging with the “Valois” at the “Festival du film francophone” in Angoulême, France (August 27-31, 2008). An Honourable Mention was awarded to the young actor Kacey Mottet Klein. Isabelle Huppert, who stars in the leading female role in the film, was awarded the “Grand Prix Spécial des Amériques” in Montreal for her extraordinary contribution to the cinematographic art.
The festival in Angoulème, directed by actor and producer Dominique Besnehard, screened ten films in the competition. Ursula Meier was present at the festival to receive the award personally.



In addition, “Home” was proclaimed the concluding surprise film at the 32nd World Film Festival in Montréal, which came to a close on September 1. In Montréal, Isabelle Huppert, who played the leading female role, was honoured with the “Grand Prix Spécial des Amériques” for her extraordinary contribution to the cinematographic art.



“Home” celebrated its world premiere in Cannes. The Swiss co-production with Belgium and France tells of a family that lives in a lone house with a small garden in a barren landscape and whose life is suddenly disrupted by a highway. The film will also be screened at the upcoming festivals in Namur and in Tokyo and released in cinemas in the French-speaking region of Switzerland on October 15, 2008 (distributor: Filmcoopi).
