Fredi M. Murer and Oliver Paulus at Palm Springs Festival

At the 18th Palm Springs Film Festival, taking place in the tourist resort east of Los Angeles from January 4 – 15, 2007, four Swiss films and co-productions will be part of the program. In the “Awards Buzz” section, all foreign films entered for Best non-English speaking Oscar nominations will be shown, among them Fredi M. Murer’s film “Vitus” for Switzerland (Production: Hugofilm, Zurich). The Austrian contribution is the film “You Bet Your Life” by Antonin Svoboda, co-produced with the Zurich company Triluna Films. In the World Cinema Now section, “So Long, My Heart!” by Oliver Paulus and Stefan Hillebrand (Production: Motorfilm, Zurich) will be screened, as well as the Austrian film “Slumming” directed by Michael Glawogger and co-produced by Zurich company Dschoint Ventschr.
Fredi M. Murer will be traveling to California on January 9 along with his producer Christof Neracher. Oliver Paulus will also be in attendance at the festival to introduce his film. The Swiss delegation will be accompanied by Francine Brücher, representative and responsible for international promotions with SWISS FILMS, which financially supports the presence of Swiss productions at Palm Springs.
