Change in the executive board
15.09.2025
Daniel Fuchs is moving on from SWISS FILMS to join the management team at the Canton of Zurich’s Department of Culture. As a member of the SWISS FILMS executive board, he has played a key role in developing the digital strategy and overall image of SWISS FILMS over the past 11 years, thereby contributing to the visibility of Swiss filmmaking.
During his time at SWISS FILMS, Daniel Fuchs was responsible for digital communication, IT strategy and presence in international markets – including Switzerland’s guest country representation at the Marché du Film 2024 in Cannes.
“At this time, we have decided not to fill the position, which will become vacant in October, but rather use the opportunity to consider how SWISS FILMS can position itself in a streamlined and future-oriented manner,” explains Director Nicola Ruffo.
In future, SWISS FILMS intends to make even greater use of digital resources and systematically continue its collaborative data management with the latest technologies. The introduction of new user-centred tools to facilitate collaboration with filmmakers and rights holders is planned for 2026. In the medium term, these will generate a range of opportunities in data exchange and cooperation with third parties. We will continue communicating organisational changes in due course. The aim is to remain a sustainable, flexible and cost-conscious agency for the industry and Swiss filmmaking.
“With his commitment and innovative ideas, Daniel was a valued sparring partner and source of motivation. We are grateful for his pioneering work and will surely miss his team spirit,” praises Nicola Ruffo.
