Short film “Rachel” in the running for French César nomination

“Rachel”, the short feature film by Swiss director and Paris resident Frédéric Mermoud, is among twelve films selected by the French Film Academy short film committee to be nominated for the 2008 César in the category for Best Short Film. Out of the twelve films presented to approximately 3,500 member of the Academy in Paris in December, five will be nominated for the award. The French film prize nominations will be announced on January 25, 2008, and the award ceremony will take place on February 23.
The award-winning Swiss-French short film “Rachel” – Rachel is the nanny of a three-year-old boy – has participated in over 20 film festivals since its premiere at the 2006 Locarno International Film Festival. It was also nominated for the 2007 Swiss Film Prize.
