Strong Swiss presence at the IndieLisboa Festival (Portugal)

18.04.2007

The 4th International Independent Film Festival in Lisbon, taking place from April 19 – 29, 2007, will be presenting the Swiss feature film “Pas douce” by Jeanne Waltz (Prod. Prince Film, Geneva) in international competition, as well as the two short films “Twist” by Alexia Walther and “Lauberhornrennen im Sommer” by Daniel Zimmermann. Additional four Swiss productions will be shown in various sections of the festival.
„Pas douce“, the first feature film of Swiss director Jeanne Waltz living in Portugal, celebrated its world premier at this year’s Berlinale (International Forum of Young Films) and is among eleven other feature films competing for various awards in Lisbon. The leading actress of this drama based in La Chaux-de-Fonds is the French actress Isild Le Besco (known from “L’intouchable” by Benoît Jacquot and “Roberto Succo” by Cédric Kahn), impersonating the doubting nurse Frédérique. The short film “Twist” continues its festival career in Lisbon, which it started in Belfort last year, like the film “Downhill Skiing In Summer”, which premiered at the Rotterdam festival in January.

The two short feature films “Amancay” and “El patio”, both by Milagros Mumenthaler (Prod. Bordu Films, Geneva), will also be screened at the festival in the Portuguese capital, alongside the long feature film “Ca brûle” by Claire Simon (Co-production Vega Film, Zürich) and the music documentary “Wintersong” by Pascal Hofmann and Benny Jaberg (Prod. HGK, Zürich), which is dedicated to Chris Hoosom and his band “Dakota Suite”.

The “IndieLisboa”, still young in the European festival community, focuses on independent, international films; long and short of every genre. Only first or second works are eligible for the main competition.
