At the 25th Filmfest München, which is taking place in the Bavarian provincial capital of Munich and constitutes the second largest film festival in Germany after the Berlinale, several Swiss films and co-productions will again be part of the International Program this year. “La traductrice” (the translator), which is the second long fiction film by Elena Hazanov (Production: Ventura Film, Merida), will be among them.
In “La traductrice”, the Geneva director tells the story of the young Russian woman Ira who is an attorney’s translator and consequently becomes entangled with the Russian mafia.

The film “La stella che non c’è/The Missing Star” by Gianni Amelio, which was co-produced by Carac Film, Berne, will also be presented in Munich. In this Italian, French, Singapore as well as Swiss co-production, Amelio once again asks the question as to how individuals of different cultures and backgrounds can get closer to each other.

With the documentary film “Sonic Mirror” by Mika Kaurismäki, another Swiss co-production with a foreign director will be part of the festival program. Co-produced by Marco Foster (Vevey) and Doc Productions, Zurich, it leads the viewer into the world of rhythm.
